What it costs
Nothing. Shipping to every address in the fifty United States is free, there is no minimum order, and the cost is already inside the price you see. There is no handling fee and no surcharge at checkout.
We do not ship outside the United States at this time. If you order from elsewhere we will refund you in full rather than let the parcel sit.
How long it takes
Orders are passed to the warehouse within one business day, and the usual door to door time is seven to twelve days.
That is longer than you are used to and we would rather explain it than hide it. This knife ships directly from the forge's fulfilment partner instead of sitting in an American warehouse first. The warehouse is most of what you pay for in a hundred and eighty dollar knife. Skipping it is how the steel in this one costs eighty nine.
Delivery estimates are estimates. Weather, customs and carrier backlogs happen, and neither we nor the carrier control them.
Tracking
You get a confirmation email the moment you order and a tracking number the moment the parcel is first scanned, usually within two business days.
Tracking can sit still for several days in the middle of the journey. That is normal on this route and does not mean the parcel is lost. If fourteen days pass with no movement at all, write to us at info@chef-kenji.com and we will send a replacement rather than ask you to keep waiting.
How it arrives
In a plain sealed parcel with nothing on the outside identifying what is inside. The knife itself is wrapped and edge guarded.
Somebody has to be able to receive it. We cannot ship to PO boxes on this route, and we cannot be responsible for a parcel a carrier records as delivered and someone then takes from a doorstep. Tell us at once if that happens and we will help you open a claim.
A wrong address
We can change a delivery address only before the parcel leaves. Email us within a few hours of ordering and we will try. Once it is scanned we cannot redirect it, and a parcel returned to sender because the address was wrong is refunded minus the actual cost of the return leg.
